Dr. Victor Neira Vidal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Queen’s University and serves as Head of the Arrhythmia Service at Kingston Health Science Centre (KHSC). He completed his medical training at Universidad de La Frontera in Chile, including residencies in Internal Medicine (2012) and Cardiology (2014), followed by Electrophysiology training (2017). After moving to Canada in 2018, he completed a fellowship in Adult Cardiac Electrophysiology at Queen’s University, becoming the first graduate to secure the DRCPSC certification there. He previously worked as an Assistant Professor at Universidad de La Frontera and led the Electrophysiology Service and Cardiac ICU at Dr. Hernán Henríquez Aravena Hospital (2020–2022).
His clinical expertise focuses on complex cardiac arrhythmias, including ventricular and atrial arrhythmias, accessory pathways, and inherited heart rhythm disorders. He also specializes in optimizing arrhythmia device therapies. His research innovates in arrhythmia mapping strategies and therapeutic interventions, notably through the TARLESS project with Dr. Damian Redfearn, resulting in high-impact publications in cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Neira Vidal is deeply involved in medical education, mentoring students and contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. He is affiliated with international cardiovascular societies and actively participates in clinical practice at KHSC.
