Dr. Ilir Maraj is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He focuses on managing complex heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and supraventricular tachycardias. His clinical practice emphasizes minimizing radiation exposure during electrophysiological procedures. He holds an MD from the University of Prishtina and completed residency and fellowships at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center.
Research interests include arrhythmia management in critical care settings (e.g., COVID-19 patients), procedural safety innovations, and antiarrhythmic drug efficacy. He collaborates with institutions like the Stephen & Denise Adams Center for Parkinson’s Disease Research and the Adams Center for Precision Cardiovascular Care.
Key publications address QT interval prolongation in COVID-19 treatments, radiation reduction in cardiac device implantation, and ventricular tachycardia ablation strategies. His work bridges clinical electrophysiology with translational research in cardiac arrhythmias and device innovation.
