Vicky Karaiskou

Dr. Vicky Karaiskou is an Assistant Professor at the Open University of Cyprus, specializing in the Program “Studies in Hellenic Culture.” Her research focuses on the interplay between artworks and societal contexts, with particular emphasis on public sculpture, cultural memory, and national identity formation. She completed the research project Cyprus: Land of Memories, Places of Art (2013), examining public sculpture’s role in shaping cultural and national identities. Her monograph Uses and Abuses of Culture: Greece 1974–2010 (2013 in Greek, 2015 in English) analyzes cultural dynamics in modern Greece.
