Her work explores the impact of violence and trauma on learning, possibilities for resistance and transformation, and connections to class, gender, ethnicity, health, and literacy. She is deeply committed to challenging inequality through critical and emancipatory approaches to education, widening participation, inclusion, community action, and research with a strong social justice agenda. Her research aims to empower marginalized learners and transform educational practices to create more equitable learning environments.
