Vicki Jowett is a Professor and current Head of the School of Social Sciences and Law within the Faculty of Education, Society and Creative Industries at the University of Sunderland. She holds a PhD in Education (2024) focusing on the lived experiences of Year 6 children during the SATs process, using drawings, interviews, and vlogs to amplify children's voices. Prior to her academic career, she operated a transcription business serving universities, which inspired her career transition in her thirties. She teaches modules such as Introduction to Criticality, Research Methods in Education, and thesis-related input.
