Vichitra Jagannathan

Vichitra Jagannathan is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Behavior at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. She co-founded the Rural Opportunity Institute (ROI), a nonprofit in Eastern North Carolina focused on youth empowerment and community resilience through human-centered design. She co-teaches a graduate course on Design Thinking for the Public Good.

Education includes an MBA from Yale School of Management, a Master of Science, and electrical engineering degrees from Princeton and Stanford Universities. Prior roles include high school science teacher via Teach For America, expansion lead for Microsoft’s TEALS program, and internships at Self-Help Credit Union and IDEO.
