Veronika Nagy is an Assistant Professor at the Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology, Utrecht University, Netherlands. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Kent and Utrecht University, funded by the Erasmus Mundus+ program. Her research focuses on surveillance, securitization of international migration, financial surveillance, ethnic mobility, human trafficking, and digital profiling (with emphasis on labor exploitation, forced criminal activities, and child trafficking).
- Education: Ph.D. in DGCG (Dual Degree in Global Criminology and Governance) from University of Kent and Utrecht University.
Research interests span critical criminology, border security, and the intersection of technology and human rights. Her work addresses contemporary challenges in global governance, particularly regarding migrant exploitation and digital surveillance mechanisms.
