Brenda Oude Breuil is an Assistant Professor of Criminology at the Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology, Utrecht University, and Cluster Chair at University College Utrecht. She leads interdisciplinary teams in social sciences and teaches Cultural Criminology in the MA Global Criminology program.

Her research focuses on Cultural Criminology, Gender and Sexuality, and exploitation in global contexts, including human trafficking for sexual/labor exploitation, transgender migrant sex workers, and illegal tobacco trade. She co-founded the Re-Imagining Sex Work initiative.
Recent articles explore trafficking in minors, transnational crime, and policy frameworks for sex work. She has served on editorial boards and peer-reviewed for journals like Anti-Trafficking Review and Oxford University Press.
