Veronika Fikfak

Veronika Fikfak is a Full Professor of Human Rights and International Law at University College London (UCL) and a Permanent Visiting Professor at iCourts - Centre of Excellence for International Courts and Governance, University of Copenhagen.

Education:

Her research focuses on public law, human rights, and international law, emphasizing damages for human rights violations, behavioral compliance theory, and state accountability mechanisms. Funded by the ESRC Future Research Leaders Grant and British Academy, her work explores how monetary remedies and behavioral insights influence international legal compliance.

Among her scientific awards are the ESRC Future Research Leaders Grant and British Academy Grant. She publishes in leading journals like European Journal of International Law, American Journal of International Law, and Leiden Journal of International Law. Her recent articles investigate trends in ECtHR adjudication, behavioral compliance, algorithmic decision-making, and state-centric reparations.
