Veronica Pejril serves as Director of Faculty Instructional Technology Support, Coordinator of the Music Instructional Technology Center, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at DePauw University. Joining the institution in 2006, she brings expertise from previous teaching positions at the City Colleges of Chicago where she also acted as an Instructional Technology Liaison.
Her research focuses on the intersection of music and technology, specializing in computer music, pedagogical applications of music technologies, and digital musicianship. Pejril's scholarly work explores innovative uses of digital tools in musical creation and education, with particular interest in technology-enabled creative collaboration and social media applications for musicians.
Educated at Princeton University and the University of Illinois in Music Composition, she studied under renowned composers Paul Lansky, Steven Mackey, Milton Babbitt and Scott Wyatt. Her musical output spans multiple decades and genres, from early academic works like 'Three Childrens Songs' (1982) to contemporary electronic compositions such as 'Mandala' (2011).
As a performing artist, Pejril is an active jazz pianist who regularly collaborates with students through the Jazz at The Duck series. She has composed electronic scores for dance productions, conducted for theater including DePauw Theatre's production of The Who's Tommy, and created installation music for ArtsFest events. Her creative work demonstrates consistent innovation in applying digital technologies to musical expression.
