Veronica Herrera is a part-time Lecturer in the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Arts & Media (CAM), where she has been teaching for over 18 years. She has also served as adjunct faculty at several institutions including Arapahoe Community College, Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State University, University of Colorado Boulder, Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, and Regis University.
Her educational background includes a Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Her research and artistic practice centers on painting, drawing, installation art, color, pattern, and organic forms. Her work explores visual narratives through vibrant compositions and spatial interventions, often inspired by cultural and natural environments.
Veronica has exhibited her artwork nationally at institutions such as the Museo de Las Americas, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, CU Museum of Natural History, and the Museum of Art Fort Collins.
She has received numerous awards and recognitions, including:
- 2024 Juror’s Choice Award – Reflections of Culture Exhibition
- 2005 Juror’s Award – 22nd Annual All Colorado Art Show
- 2005 1st Place, Professional Category – CBA Multi-Company Art Exhibition

- Multiple scholarships in 1993 including the Ford Scholarship and San Antonio Art League Scholarship
