Venkata Surya Gadepalli

Venkata Surya Gadepalli is currently an Honorary Research Associate at the Innovation, Strategy and Sustainability Department. He holds a PhD in Strategic Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta (2019), an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi (2002), and a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT Kanpur (1998). His research focuses on firm strategies, particularly in Base of the Pyramid (BoP) markets, digitalization, international strategy, and family business dynamics. He also explores the impact of public policy on firm innovation and intangible asset development.

Gadepalli has taught courses in international business management and strategic management at IIM Calcutta, including for executive programs and the CEMS program. He has also tutored MBA students with disabilities.

Before academia, he worked in the Indian software industry for over a decade, holding roles in business development, product management, and software engineering at firms like Cognizant and Satyam Computers. His methodological expertise includes quantitative analysis (e.g., regression models) and online data scraping techniques.
