Dr. Venessa Grandjean is a Clinical Associate Professor and the Online Graduate Program Director in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Baylor University’s Robbins College of Health & Human Sciences. She plays a key leadership role in shaping the online graduate curriculum and clinical training for future speech-language pathologists.
Her research focuses on online CSD programs, admissions criteria and student outcomes, and the role of SLP assistants in clinical practice, particularly emphasizing the importance of specific-corrective feedback during supervision. Her expertise bridges academic instruction and real-world clinical application across diverse healthcare and educational settings.
Dr. Grandjean has extensive professional experience as a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist and therapy services manager, with 23 years of clinical supervision across public education, early intervention, home care, outpatient clinics, and hospitals. She began teaching at Baylor in 2020 and has led the online program since its inception.
She teaches core courses including CSD 5308 (Structures and Functions in Communication and Swallowing), CSD 5354 (Mentored Research Experience), CSD 5201 (Clinical Methods), CSD 5101 (Observation), and CSD 5150 (Introduction to Clinical Practice).
