Vele V. Tesevic

Vele V. Tesevic is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, specializing in the Department of Organic Chemistry. With a career spanning over three decades, he has served in various academic roles including Assistant, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor before achieving his current rank in 2019. His research focuses on phytochemistry and food chemistry, particularly the structural analysis of natural products, metabolomics, and environmental chemical profiling.

Professor Tesevic has led and participated in numerous international and domestic research projects, including collaborations with the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the European Commission, focusing on advanced analytical methods (GC-MS, LC-MS) and environmental/metabolomic studies. His work extends to developing automated analytical protocols for OPCW proficiency testing and investigating PFAS contamination in Serbia.

His publications highlight expertise in essential oil composition, antifungal activity, phenolic acids, and plant metabolites, with applications in food safety, ecological monitoring, and medicinal chemistry. He actively contributes to academic governance as a member of the Faculty Council and Equipment Management Commission.

Professor Tesevic teaches courses such as Structural Instrumental Methods, Flavor Chemistry, and Modern Structural Methods, utilizing his laboratory (Room 312) for research. His academic impact includes co-authored books like "Strukturne instrumentalne metode - zbirka spektara" and over 15 significant publications in international journals.
