Boban D. Andjelkovic

Boban D. Andjelković is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Chemistry, Department of Organic Chemistry. He holds a PhD (2017) in Chemistry and earlier degrees in Biology from the University of Belgrade. His research focuses on analytical chemistry methodologies, metabolomics profiling, and the application of NMR spectroscopy in toxicology and forensic science. He has contributed to international projects funded by OPCW and the European Commission, particularly in chemical warfare agent analysis and microplastic toxicity studies.

Research Interests: Development of advanced analytical platforms (GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR), metabolomics of plant and microbial systems, toxicological analysis of environmental contaminants, and applications of metabolomics in neurodegenerative disease research. Recent work includes studies on microplastic toxicity, nerve agent metabolite identification, and medicinal mushroom cytotoxicity.

Recent Research Trends: His publications (2015-2024) emphasize NMR-based metabolomics for biomarker discovery, optimization of analytical methods for OPCW proficiency tests, and interdisciplinary projects linking chemistry with environmental science and pharmacology. Key themes include bioremediation of agricultural waste, neurotoxin antagonism mechanisms, and plant-microbe interaction metabolomics.
