Veith Selk is a Visiting Professor at the Institute for Social Change and Sustainability at the Vienna University of Economics and Business since 2024. He previously held roles such as Private Lecturer at the Technical University of Darmstadt (2023) and Senior Research Fellow at the Point Alpha Research Institute (2023). He has served as Acting Professor (W3) at the University of Heidelberg (2021) and Acting Professor (W2) at the University of Trier (2018), focusing on political theory and its intersections with democratic theory and social dynamics.
- Education: Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Hamburg (2013); Habilitation in Political Science at TU Darmstadt (2021).
His research centers on political theory, with a focus on democratic theories, emotionalization, polarization, and citizen science. He has led and participated in interdisciplinary projects such as Moralization, Emotionalization, Polarization (Volkswagen Foundation, 2022–2023) and True Hate. Emotional Discipline and Political Learning (Volkswagen Foundation, 2021–2022).
