Veit Erlmann is a Professor and holder of the Endowed Chair of Music History at the School of Music, University of Texas at Austin. With a Ph.D. from the University of Cologne, his research spans South African popular music, music and globalization, the history of sound, and intellectual property, alongside regional focuses on South Africa and Indonesia.
