Vassilis Hatzopoulos

Vassilis Hatzopoulos is a full Professor of EU Law and Policies at Panteion University, Athens. He previously served as Professor, Department Chair, and Dean at Democritus University of Thrace. Currently, he is a visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.

• Research Focus: EU institutional law, governance, internal market, service liberalisation, public procurement, state aid, asylum/immigration law, and sharing economy regulation.
• Publications: Authored four monographs and over 100 articles in English, French, and Greek, focusing on EU law and services regulation.

Legal Practice: Extensive experience practicing before national courts and the Court of Justice of the EU. Consulted the Greek Government, EU Commission, and European Parliament on services directives, regulatory reform, and patient rights.

Current Trends: Recently expanded research to EU preferential trade agreements (e.g., TTIP, CETA) and the impact of the sharing economy on EU law.
