Dimitra Fragkou is an Integrated Researcher (Non-PhD) at the Center for Research and Development on Law and Society (CEDIS) and a Doctor of Philosophy student at the NOVA School of Law (Faculdade de Direito) at NOVA University of Lisbon. She holds a Master's in Public International Law and a Bachelor's in Law from Democritus University of Thrace.
Her research focuses on migration governance, refugee law, and the intersection of vulnerability with international and EU legal frameworks. Key interests include border externalization policies, Frontex operations, and the biopolitical dimensions of migration crises.
Recent publications explore topics such as the UK-Rwanda asylum scheme, refugee vulnerability norms, and the role of supranational courts in addressing migrant rights. She has received the competitive Bolsa da Investigacao (BD) fellowship.
Her professional activities include invited talks at the University of Ghent, participation in workshops like FLAMES (Critical Discourse Analysis), and organizing events on EU asylum challenges. She contributes to media discussions on migration and gender issues, including analyses of Palestinian refugees' status and women's protection in Greek asylum systems.
