Dr Vasilis Gkotsis serves as a Lecturer in International Business at the University of Liverpool Management School, appointed in January 2019. He currently holds the position of Director of International Business studies (PG) and previously served as Deputy Director for UG programs (2019-2021), with additional roles including PG Lead in International Business and Innovation & Entrepreneurship (2022-2023) and University of Liverpool College Tutor (2020-2023).
His research centers on decision-making processes in International Business, with specific focus on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) determinants. This builds upon his doctoral work analyzing service failure and recovery mechanisms in UK airlines. Dr Gkotsis integrates over 10 years of industry experience as an operations manager and business development professional into his academic practice.
Administrative contributions include comprehensive curriculum development for the MSc International Business program—recently updated with a new "International Business with Strategy" pathway—and meticulous student advising for hundreds annually. He actively maintains the Management School's triple-crown accreditation (AMBA, AACSB, EQUIS) through quality assurance processes and industry collaborations across the North West UK region.
