Vasilios Vlachos

Dr. Vasilios Vlachos is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Thessaly. He holds a degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete, an MSc in Integrated Hardware and Software Systems from the University of Patras, and a PhD from the Athens University of Economics. His research focuses on cybersecurity, financial technology, trusted systems, internet privacy, and free software.

Research interests include Electronic Transaction Security, Trusted Distributed Systems, and Complex Systems. He collaborates with the Diophantus Institute and University of Patras on national/EU research programs. Active roles: Board member of OTO, EIMPEE, ESPC; Deputy Coordinator of OWASP Greece; Technical Advisor to DART (Ministry of Economy and Finance).

Maintains affiliations with research labs like the Laboratory of Operations Research and contributes to academic governance through roles like member of the Technical Chamber of Greece's Special Scientific Committee.
