Vasiliki Fouka is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Stanford University, a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR), and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). She holds a PhD in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University (2015). Her research focuses on the intersection of political economy and political behavior, exploring how social identities shape political and economic outcomes. Key areas include immigrant assimilation, prejudice against minorities, and intergroup conflict.
Her work is published in top journals like the American Political Science Review, Review of Economic Studies, and Nature Human Behaviour. Notable awards include the Joseph L. Bernd Award and the Austin Robinson Prize. She also serves on editorial boards for journals such as Political Science Research and Methods and Journal of Comparative Economics.
Her teaching spans Immigration and Multiculturalism, Political Culture, and Nationalism. She collaborates with institutions like NBER and CEPR, and co-leads studies on young Muslims in the UK with Aala Abdelgadir.
