Vasileios Georgiou is a Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) in Accounting and Finance at the University of York's School for Business and Society since November 2020. He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Patras and an MSc in Corporate Governance and Accountability from the University of Glasgow, where he is also completing a PhD investigating control systems in public sector risk management.
His research focuses on Management Accounting, Control Systems, Public Sector Risk Management, and Performance Management. He previously served as a college lecturer at City of Glasgow College (2017–2020), including international teaching collaborations in China.
Notable work includes a 2021 article on emergent risk management in public sectors. He is a CIMA member with a Certificate in Business Accounting.
