Georgios Kominis

Dr Georgios Kominis is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting & Finance at the University of Glasgow. He holds a B.Sc. from the Technological Educational Institution of Piraeus, and completed his MAcc and Ph.D. at the University of Glasgow in 2002. His research focuses on management control systems, particularly their impact on managerial behavior, incentive design for middle managers, and performance evaluation. He has received grants from CIMA including a 2013 seed grant on inter-organisational management control and a 2004-2006 grant on reward system design.

Research Interests:

• Management control systems and their influence on organizational behavior
• Design of reward schemes and performance measurement systems
• Public sector governance and accountability
• Business ethics and motivational frameworks

Publications highlight themes like risk governance in public sectors, trust-building in networks, and leadership in hybrid organizations. He has supervised PhD candidate André Rodrigues and contributed to research reports for NGOs like CHAS and Urban Roots. Active in academic service, he reviews for journals like Management Accounting Research and serves on the editorial board of Scientific Touristic Journal.
