Vanessa Rubio-Márquez

Vanessa Rubio-Márquez is a Professor and Associate Dean for Extended Education at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) School of Public Policy. With a 25-year career in Mexico’s public service, she has held prominent roles including Senator and three Deputy Minister positions (Finance, Social Development, and Foreign Affairs), becoming the first woman to serve as Deputy Minister of Finance. She has extensive international experience, representing Mexico in organizations like the UN, IMF, World Bank, OECD, G-20, and regional development banks, and has participated in major negotiations such as the USMCA and Pacific Alliance. Her expertise spans policy-making, finance, social development, and foreign affairs.

Previously, she taught for 14 years in Mexico and is an active contributor to international and Mexican media. Her academic and professional trajectory bridges public policy, governance, and global economic relations.
