Vanda Babić Galić

Prof. Dr. Sc. Vanda Babić Galić is a Full Professor specializing in Croatian literature, cultural heritage, and folklore. She held a professorship at the University of Zadar's Faculty of Philosophy until 2023 and currently works as a Scientific Advisor at the Institute for Migration and Nationalities in Zagreb. Her academic journey includes undergraduate studies in Croatian Language and Literature at the University of Zadar and postgraduate studies in Literature at the University of Zagreb. She has authored numerous scholarly publications, focusing on oral literature, Boka Kotorska's cultural heritage, and media's role in preserving oral traditions. Her research also explores Croatian medieval texts, symbolism in literature, and regional ethnography.

Prof. Babić Galić has served on editorial boards, including Lingua Montenegrin and the Faculty of Philosophy in Tuzla's journal, and chairs the Institute for Croatian Language and Linguistics. She has received several awards, including the Zadar County Annual Award (2006) and the Coat of Arms of Zadar (2019). Her work bridges academic research with cultural preservation, emphasizing Croatia's regional identities and historical narratives.

Her recent projects include analyzing symbolism in Ridley Scott's films and medieval bestiaries, as well as studying Christmas traditions in Zadar and Brač island customs. She actively promotes Croatian cultural heritage through academic writing, public scripts like Bokeljski akord, and contributions to international scholarly discourse.
