Dr. Van Tran is a Research Fellow at Charles Sturt University's Children Voices Centre. Her work focuses on multilingual speech acquisition, home language maintenance, and discourse analysis, with special emphasis on Vietnamese-Australian communities. She holds dual PhDs in Speech-Language Pathology and Linguistics, and is a NAATI-accredited translator.
Dr. Tran's research examines cross-linguistic transfer during speech development and telehealth interventions for bilingual families. Recent publications analyze children's communication across 24 countries and curriculum development for Vietnam's speech-language pathology programs. Awards include the Michael Clyne Prize (2023), Thesis of the Year (2022), and multiple Three-Minute Thesis competition wins.
