Suzanne Hopf is Senior Lecturer and Course Director of Speech Pathology at Charles Sturt University. Based in Fiji, she develops culturally responsive service models for communication disabilities in underserved regions.
Her research examines barriers to communication services in multicultural contexts, developing frameworks for culturally responsive teamwork and communication capacity building across linguistic and cultural boundaries.
Publications focus on Fijian children's language acquisition, virtual clinical placements, and equity in speech pathology service delivery, with recent work exploring participatory research methods with children.
Awards include:
- Executive Dean's Teaching Award (2021)
- Research Excellence Through Partnership Award (2022)
She leads international collaborations including the Frank Hilton Organisation in Fiji, developing interventions for multilingual children's communication development.
