معرفی
Valeriy Skryshevsky is Professor and Head of the Chair of Nanophysics of Condensed Matters at the Faculty of Physics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. Since 1981 he has advanced from Scientific Researcher to full Professor and Chair, with visiting appointments at Ecole Centrale de Lyon and INSA de Lyon (1997-1998) and Comenius University (1989).
Education
- M.Sc. in Physics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (1978)
- Candidate of Phys.-Math. Sciences (Ph.D.), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (1984)
- Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (2001)
Research interests lie at the intersection of nanophysics, condensed-matter physics and optoelectronics. His early work focused on improving the efficiency of silicon solar cells using porous and nanostructured materials. He then pioneered the theory and application of chemical sensors based on metal–nanocrystalline-silicon heterostructures, enabling detection of hydrogen, moisture, hydrocarbons, heavy metals and organic compounds. Presently his group develops third-generation silicon solar cells (including Bragg mirrors and photoluminescent concentrators), electronic tongue systems for rapid liquid/gas recognition via photovoltaic transducers, and silicon and silicon-carbide quantum dots for bio-imaging and drug delivery.
His publication portfolio (1996–2016) reveals sustained investigation into porous-silicon photoluminescence, surface-state physics, photovoltaic structures, hydrogen storage, and nanomaterial–biological interfaces. The trend shows a progression from fundamental studies of porous-silicon optical and electrical properties to highly applied sensor and energy-harvesting devices, culminating in multifunctional quantum-dot platforms for theranostics.
Scientific awards
- State Prize in Science and Technology of Ukraine (2012)
- Honored Worker of Science and Technique of Ukraine (2016)
Grants & Projects include coordination of the EU TEMPUS project “Curricula Development for Master of Microsystems Design” (2012-2016) and the H2020-MSCA-RISE project “Carbon-based nano-materials for theranostic application (CARTHER)” (2016-2019).
Laboratory & Facilities – He heads the Chair of Nanophysics of Condensed Matters and previously led a research laboratory equipped with SEM, AFM, optical spectroscopy, PL, FTIR and custom photovoltaic and sensor characterization setups.
