Oleg A. Yeshchenko

Oleg A. Yeshchenko is a Professor at the Experimental Physics Department, Faculty of Physics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. He has been with the university since 1993, progressing from Engineer to Assistant Professor (1996-2002), Associate Professor (2002-2013), and finally to Professor (2013-present).

Professor Yeshchenko's research focuses on nanophotonics and plasmonics, with particular emphasis on light-matter coupling in metal-based hybrid nanostructures. His work explores surface plasmon phenomena for applications in sensorics, nanophotonics, and biomedical applications. His research spans from fundamental studies of plasmonic effects to practical applications in photodynamic therapy and biosensing, with recent publications showing a strong trend toward developing theranostic nanosystems that combine diagnostic and therapeutic functions.

His research has resulted in numerous publications, with recent work focusing on thermoresponsive nanosystems for photodynamic therapy, plasmonic metasurfaces for enhanced photoluminescence, and hybrid metal-polymer nanocomposites. His work shows a consistent trend toward developing practical applications of plasmonic phenomena in biomedical contexts, particularly in cancer treatment and biomolecule detection.

Professor Yeshchenko has received several scientific awards, including:
