Valerie Gay

Valerie Gay is an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical and Data Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), holding dual roles in teaching and research. She leads the Master of Technology Management and Master of Technology Innovation programs, emphasizing cross-disciplinary education. Her research focuses on mobile technologies, digital health, and social innovation, with a strong emphasis on co-designing solutions with healthcare stakeholders. Key projects include the TrEAT Eating Disorder Registry, the CAF Labour Standards initiative, and the Solitaire Fitness exergame for elderly health. She has pioneered mHealth applications for chronic disease management and usability testing frameworks, with over 150 publications in bioengineering and informatics.

Education: Doctor of Science (Habilitation) and PhD in Computing from Sorbonne University, Paris. Extensive academic experience across France (University of Picardie Jules Verne), Brazil (Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo), and Australia since 1999.
