Dr. Valeria Wenderoth is a Lecturer in Music at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM), where she has taught since 2001. Her expertise lies in 19th-century French and Italian opera, focusing on text-music relationships and socio-political dimensions of music. She holds a Ph.D. in Musicology (2004) from UHM, following a Diploma in Classical Guitar (Superior Level) from the Conservatory of Music in Perugia, Italy (1985). Her work includes publishing a textbook on 20th-century music and contributing music criticism to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. She was awarded a fellowship at the Institute of Music and Opera (2007).
