Valentina Volpi is a Visiting Professor of 'Social Innovation and Transformation Design' at Link Campus University in Rome, where she teaches in the Master's Degree program in 'Communication Technologies and Languages'. She specializes in Human-Centered Design, Design Thinking, and Co-design methodologies, with a focus on Smart Cities and Urban Spaces. Her research explores UX/Service Design, Social Innovation, and the integration of technology in public services. She leads workshops on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Presentation Skills, and Social Enterprise Idea Development using collaborative and project-based learning approaches.
Her academic collaborations include roles as a Research Fellow at CATTID (Sapienza University of Rome) and DASIC (Link Campus University). She holds a Master's in Publishing, Multimedia Communication, and Journalism from Sapienza University, and a PhD in Interaction Design. Her work emphasizes practical applications of design in urban contexts, such as gamification for mobility services, co-design processes for public spaces, and sustainable innovation frameworks for Cultural and Creative Industries.
Volpi promotes knowledge exchange between universities and local communities through funded research projects and social innovation initiatives. Her recent projects include frameworks for circular UX design in tourism and hybrid urban space analysis. She also investigates elderly-centric transportation solutions and data-driven approaches to citizen engagement in public services.
