Valentina Fedele is an Associate Professor of Sociology of Cultural and Communicational Processes at Link Campus University in Rome. Her research focuses on social movements in North Africa, diaspora groups from MENA countries, youth migration, and the reconfiguration of identities (national, ethnic, religious, gender, and sport-related). She explores themes like migrant parenting, religious radicalization, and the inclusion of migrant communities in non-Muslim contexts. Her work integrates cultural, communication, and sociological lenses to analyze transnational dynamics and identity politics.
Her notable research includes studies on unaccompanied minors in transnational families, the Algerian Hirak movement, and the role of football in fostering migrant youth integration. She has also examined anti-migrant rhetoric during the pandemic and Muslim masculinities in Mediterranean diasporas. Fedele’s interdisciplinary approach bridges migration studies, gender theory, and political sociology.
Fedele’s publications span academic journals and books, addressing timely issues such as transnational child migration, social movements, and cultural identity negotiation. Her work emphasizes intersectional analyses of migration, religion, and gender in globalized contexts.
