Valentina Rozas-Krause is an Assistant Professor in Design and Architecture at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Chile. She holds a Ph.D. in Architectural History from UC Berkeley, a Master’s in Urban Planning, and a B.Arch. from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She served as the 2023-24 Frieda L. Miller Fellow at Harvard Radcliffe Institute and held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan.
Her research focuses on public space, monuments, gender representation, decolonization, and urban planning. She leads a multiyear project examining female representation in public spaces across three Chilean cities and edited a special issue of ARQ on Decolonization. She contributes to public scholarship via Ciudad Pauta, a Chilean radio show discussing urban issues.
Rozas-Krause serves on the Society of Architectural Historians board and is an adjunct researcher at the Center for Conflict and Social Cohesion Studies. Her research is supported by Mellon/ACLS, UC Berkeley’s Townsend Center, DAAD, and Chile’s ANID.
