Valentina Proserpio serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology at the University of Turin, specializing in genetics (SSD BIO/18). Her academic role encompasses teaching core courses for the Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences including Anthropology and Genetics, Molecular Biology and Genetics, and associated laboratory modules covering Natural Sciences and Evolution of Animal and Human Behavior.
Her research concentrates on genetic diagnostics and omics technologies, particularly through the PRIN 2022 project 'VBDOmics' (COD. 2022CLTAYH) which investigates vestibulodynia using high-resolution genomic approaches to enhance clinical diagnosis. This work bridges molecular biology with medical applications in chronic pain conditions.
Dr. Proserpio actively contributes to departmental governance as a member of the Department Council. Her research funding includes the competitively awarded PRIN 2022 national grant, demonstrating her leadership in advancing genetic diagnostic methodologies within clinical contexts.
