Valentina Bruno

Valentina Bruno is a Professor of Finance and Kogod Faculty Excellence Fellow at the American University Kogod School of Business. She earned a Master in Finance and Economics and a Ph.D. in Finance from the London School of Economics. Prior to joining American University, she worked at the World Bank in the Financial Sector Strategy and Policy Group and the International Finance Team.

Her research bridges macroeconomics and finance, focusing on global financial markets' interaction with the real economy and the role of the US dollar in transmitting global financial conditions. Current affiliations include Research Fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research and Faculty Research Member at the European Corporate Governance Institute. She serves as Associate Editor at the Journal of Banking and Finance and has been a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Board and Council on Foreign Relations.
