Valentina Abbatelli is an Assistant Professor in the Italian Department at the University of Warwick, specializing in Italian language, culture, and pedagogy. She holds a PhD in Historical Linguistics and History of Italian Language from the University of Rome 'La Sapienza' and a second PhD in Italian Studies from the University of Warwick.

Recent publications include analyses of translation practices in Fascist Italy, intercultural virtual exchange projects, and diversity integration in language curricula. She was awarded the Society of Italian Studies EDI Excellence Award in 2022 and Senior Fellow of Advance HE in 2024.
