Valérie Langlois is a Full Professor and Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Ecotoxicogenomics and Endocrine Disruption at INRS' Water, Earth and Environment Center. She holds an Associate Professor position at Queen's University's School of Environmental Studies. Her research focuses on the effects of environmental contaminants on aquatic vertebrates, particularly endocrine disruption and molecular mechanisms. She leads the Ecotoxicogenomics lab, studying pollutants like diluted bitumen, nanoplastics, and endocrine disruptors. Langlois collaborates with academic and government partners, emphasizing environmental DNA (eDNA) for species tracking and contamination assessment.
Education: B.Sc. (Environmental Sciences, University of Ottawa), Ph.D. (Environmental Toxicology, University of Ottawa), Postdoctoral Fellowships (Royal Military College/Queen's University). Research interests include ecotoxicogenomics, environmental RNA/DNA, and comparative endocrinology. She has supervised numerous students and published extensively in toxicology, environmental chemistry, and molecular biology. Awards include the Canada Research Chair. Current roles include editorial boards for Frontiers in Endocrinology and leadership in the Ecotoxicogenomics Lab.
