Professor Vada Lindsey is a Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Enrollment and Inclusion at Marquette University Law School. She teaches courses in taxation, estate planning, and real estate. Previously, she served as a law faculty member at the University of the District of Columbia, a law clerk for the U.S. Tax Court, and a tax attorney with the IRS and a Fortune 500 corporation. Her research focuses on tax policy, wealth disparity, and property law.
Education: J.D. from DePaul University College of Law (served as Article and Note Editor of the DePaul Law Review during law school).
Research Interests: Analyzes tax policy impacts on wealth inequality, real estate taxation, and estate planning strategies. She emphasizes progressive tax reforms and equitable fiscal policies.
Publications: Authored Real Estate Finance in a Nutshell (2017) and co-authored Taxation of Estates, Gifts and Trusts (2020). Major articles in Florida Tax Review, Nebraska Law Review, and University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform.
Service Roles: Serves on professional organization committees, advises the Estate Planning Society, and chairs the Admissions Committee. Current leadership includes overseeing enrollment and inclusion initiatives as Associate Dean.
Labs/Teams: Actively involved in interdisciplinary tax policy research and diversity initiatives within the Law School.
