VASSILIS VLASTARAS

Professor VASSILIS VLASTARAS is a visual artist and academic affiliated with the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) since 1999. He directs studio11asfa, fostering a collaborative environment for students to explore interdisciplinary art practices. His work spans multimedia installations, performance art, and site-specific interventions, addressing themes of memory, urban space, and the interplay between life and death. Vlastaras co-founded ΠLATFORMES (2002–2008), coordinated the Utopia Project (2006–2010), and co-launched asfaBBQ and the ViZ Laboratory for Visual Culture.

Research interests include interactivity in art, ephemeral phenomena, and the socio-political dimensions of memory.
