Valērijs Dombrovskis is an Associate Professor at Daugavpils University, specializing in Educational Psychology and Teacher Well-being. He holds expert rights from the Latvian Council of Science in "Social Sciences – Psychology" and "Social Sciences – Educational Sciences". His research focuses on pedagogical interventions, professional burnout among teachers, and the psychological aspects of sports coaching and education systems. He serves on multiple editorial boards of international journals, including the Bulletin of the International Center of Education and Izvestiya of Saratov University. He is an active member of university committees, including the Ethics Commission and Library Council, and leads responsibilities for the Professional Master's program in Psychology's "Education and School Psychology" specialization.
His research interests span emotional stability in educators, pedagogical competence, and the intersection of psychology with sustainable education. Recent work explores burnout predictors in Latvian teachers, procrastination during distance learning, and motivational patterns across professions.
