Sandra Zariņa is an Assistant Professor at Daugavpils University (DU), affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds a Dr.paed. degree and serves as the Director of the Professional Bachelor’s Study Program "Teacher" and Secretary of the Council of Professors in the Educational Sciences Sector. Her roles also include membership in DU’s institutional bodies, such as the Professors’ Council for Educational Sciences and the Research and Business Center “REBUS.”
Her research focuses on bilingual education in preschool and primary school settings, Latvian language curriculum design, pedagogical methodologies, and teacher training within higher education programs. She actively contributes to academic governance, overseeing educational quality and advising on curricular frameworks. Sandra Zariņa is recognized as an expert in Educational Sciences by the Latvian Council of Science until September 2024.
As an academic leader, she manages the Professional Bachelor’s program for future teachers, ensuring alignment with national and international standards.
