V.C. Srivastava

V.C. Srivastava serves as Professor and Dean of International Relations (2023–present) at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. Previously, he was Head of Department (2021–2023) and held progressive academic ranks since joining as Assistant Professor in 2006.

His research spans environmental remediation and energy systems, with emphasis on wastewater treatment, carbon-dioxide utilization, and nanomaterials for pollution abatement. Current projects include ISRO-funded supercapacitor development (2020–present) and DST-Portugal collaborative distillery waste valorization (WASTENERGY, 2024–present), reflecting his focus on circular economy solutions for industrial effluents and energy storage.

Scientific recognition includes the Herdillia Award (2021), Hindustan Lever Award (2019), and INSA Medal for Young Scientist (2010). His 25+ funded projects totaling ₹1,122.76 lakh demonstrate sustained research leadership, with major grants from DST (₹50 lakh for bio-methanation studies, 2023), Ministry of Environment (₹45 lakh for Ganga Basin Management, 2012), and ONGC (₹114 lakh for fluorinated acid analysis, 2017).

Administratively, he chairs the Centre of Nanotechnology Research Committee (2020–2022) and previously coordinated Continuing Education Centre & QIP (2019–2021). His global collaborations span 14 institutions including University of Illinois Chicago (hydrogen storage), University of Porto (waste-to-energy), and Cranfield University (sugarcane sustainability).
