Uwe Walz

Prof. Uwe Walz is a Professor of Economics specializing in Industrial Economics at Goethe University Frankfurt, affiliated with the Leibniz Institute SAFE. He previously held positions at Universities of Bochum (1995-1997) and Tübingen (1997-2002), and served as a visiting professor at the London School of Economics and UC Berkeley. Since 2010, he co-directed the Center for Financial Studies and was a core member of the SAFE Management Board until October 2023. He leads the German Historical Finance Data Project, aiming to establish a long-term company-level and capital market database for Germany as part of a pan-European initiative.
