Alexander Hillert

Prof. Dr. Alexander Hillert serves as Co-Director of the Department of Financial Intermediation and holds a Professorship for Finance and Data Science at the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE, affiliated with Goethe University Frankfurt. Previously, he held the professorship of Sustainable Asset Management at the House of Finance. He earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim.

His research focuses on empirical asset pricing and corporate finance, investigating how capital market participants process text-based information using computational linguistics. Key research themes include textual analysis, behavioral finance, and the influence of information dynamics on markets. His work has been published in prestigious journals like the Journal of Financial Economics and Review of Financial Studies.

Hillert is actively involved in the Experiment Center, Pension Finance Lab, and Data Center Team at SAFE, contributing to interdisciplinary research initiatives. His role as Co-Director involves advancing research in financial intermediation while overseeing collaborative projects in policy and academic domains.
