Christine Laudenbach

Christine Laudenbach is a Professor and Director of the Department of Household Finance at the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE, affiliated with Goethe University. Previously, she held a professorship in Finance at the University of Bonn and conducted postdoctoral research at Goethe University Frankfurt and the University of Mannheim, where she earned her Ph.D. in 2012. She has also engaged in research visits at the University of Washington, Seattle, and Columbia University, New York.

Her research focuses on improving financial decision-making in private households through financial education, counseling, and innovative self-help tools. Her work appears in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Management Science.

She leads the Department of Household Finance and contributes to initiatives like the Experiment Center and Pension Finance Lab at SAFE. Her academic trajectory reflects a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research in behavioral economics and practical applications for household financial welfare.
