Prof. Dr. Uwe Messer currently holds the position of Professor of Human Resources Controlling and Business Analytics at the Universität der Bundeswehr München, Faculty of Business Administration (HAW). He previously served as a research assistant at the University of Bamberg’s Chair of Sales & Marketing until December 2016. His research focuses on consumer behavior, marketing psychology, and the application of data analytics and machine learning in organizational decision-making. He is particularly interested in how technology like wearables and AI influences productivity and ethical considerations in business analytics.
Teaching responsibilities include courses in statistics, personnel controlling, people analytics, and data visualization using tools like R. His work bridges behavioral sciences and technology, addressing topics such as AI bias, political preferences in AI systems, and transparency in AI development.
Prof. Messer is a member of the Faculty Council and actively contributes to interdisciplinary research on generative AI and its societal impacts. His office is located at Building 36, Room 0163, with consultation hours by appointment.
