Ute Straub is a Professor in the Department of International/Transnational Social Work at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Germany. She serves as an ERASMUS Coordinator and chairs the International Social Work section of the German Society for Social Work (DGSA). Her work spans family support, gender issues, and international social work practices.
- Education: MA in Education, Psychology, and Art History from Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg; PhD in Education (thesis: Institutionalization and Professionalization in Feminist Projects).
- Research Focus: Family Group Conferencing, international social work, gender dynamics, and social work education. She advocates for Internationalization at Home and co-founded NetKo to promote conferencing approaches.
- Activities: Teaches in BA Social Work and transnational programs; collaborates with European partners; implements Service User Involvement in curriculum; and participates in global conferences on social work and education.
