معرفی
Ute Moll, MD, MS is a Distinguished SUNY Professor and Endowed Renaissance Professor of Cancer Biology at Stony Brook University's Renaissance School of Medicine, serving as Vice Chair for Experimental Pathology in the Department of Pathology. She maintains part-time clinical duties in the autopsy program at Stony Brook University Hospital while leading a continuously funded research laboratory with uninterrupted support from the National Cancer Institute and other national foundations.
Her educational background includes an MS in Biology (1980) and MD (1985) from the University of Ulm, Germany, followed by pathology residency (1986-1989) and postdoctoral fellowships at Stony Brook University and Princeton University under Dr. Arnold J. Levine. Her academic progression at Stony Brook includes Assistant Professor (1992-1997), Associate Professor (1997-2001), and Full Professor since 2002, with additional roles as Vice Chair for Research since 2009.
Dr. Moll is a world leader in p53/p63/p73 gene family research, making seminal contributions to understanding wild-type p53's transcription-independent mitochondrial cell death mechanisms and gain-of-function properties of mutant p53 in cancer. Her laboratory pioneered the discovery of p53's direct mitochondrial permeability transition pore activation and demonstrated mutant p53's role as a therapeutic target. Current research focuses on exploiting cancer's dependence on mutant p53 stabilization through HSP90 inhibition and related pathways, with multiple clinical trials underway including the GANNET53 consortium study for ovarian cancer.
Her publication record shows 196 PubMed-indexed articles with 35,701 total citations (h-index 81), demonstrating consistent high-impact contributions across molecular oncology, cell death mechanisms, and cancer therapeutics. Recent work emphasizes translational applications targeting mutant p53 dependencies in diverse cancers.

As Principal Investigator, Dr. Moll has maintained continuous grant funding for over 25 years, currently leading the GANNET53 clinical trial consortium and serving as Co-Director of the Stem Cell Analysis Core at Stony Brook. Her laboratory utilizes advanced genetic mouse models, multi-omic approaches, and computational methods to investigate cancer mechanisms and therapeutic vulnerabilities. International collaborations include her role as Guest Professor at the University of Göttingen's Department of Molecular Oncology since 2007.
